Tell us about yourself.

My husband and I live in Laveen, AZ.  I've been married 46 years to a wonderful man (most of the time) LOL. Actually, he’s great. I have three beautiful children, two daughters and one son. God blessed us with nine BEAUTIFUL grandchildren, six girls and three boys. They own my heart!

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work or business?

Family, gardening, church, reading, watching television, and traveling, once it is safe to travel.

What is the best business or career advice you can give the women in the 50Something Women’s Network?

When it comes to your own business, don’t procrastinate. Stop doubting your ability and God given talent.  I’ve worked for someone else most of my life.  I always excelled at whatever task I was given, but when it came to me working for myself, I doubted myself and my ability.  Can I do this? Am I smart enough?  Do I have enough education? Now that I look back, even though out loud my answer was yes, deep down within me I was afraid - afraid of failure. I ‘ve conquered my fear and I am ready to do this. My advice is You are WORTH IT, you are CAPABLE, and You CAN do this. No doubt! Just Full throttle ahead!

Tell us about your business.

My business is a work in progress partially because of some of the procrastination and doubt I mentioned earlier. But now that I’ve put those aside, I have great hope for my business. I can't wait to bring it to market.  I’m confident that it will be out this year shooting for the end of April.  God has blessed me with many ideas, I’m starting with T-shirts and a unique sock.

Where do you find the most inspiration?

My greatest inspiration comes from God and His word. He has brought me through some valleys, but I must say his grace brought me out on the other side a better person than when I went in. I also find inspiration from my spouse and children, my pastor and church family. Cheryl has been a great mentor for me. She helped me realize that I can follow and achieve my dreams.  I also find inspiration in affirmations. There are some phenomenal women here in 50Something that inspire me. Listening to your stories are great and such an inspiration.

I even find inspiration watching my grandchildren as they grow up and follow their dreams.

I enjoy looking at nature, mountains, trees, and even the sky. I see beauty in them all. This year I enjoyed planting flowers in my backyard.

What would you consider your greatest accomplishment(s)?

Allowing God to be the center, Lord and Savior of my life. He has blessed me beyond measure. He's still blessing me. I’ve been married to the same wonderful man for 47 years, raised my children to love and serve God, and each other. By the Grace of God, I'm living to see their children do the same.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the fact that my dream of creating a product that can bring inspiration and hope to the world has come true. My business, Eye Exclaim, is a culmination of my desire to help people literally stand on the “Word of God.” My unique socks capture your favorite scripture and allow you to strut through your day knowing that God is with you every step of the way.

One thing on my bucket list was to act in a movie. I was able to accomplish this dream this year. I was in a movie. It was a small role, but I had so much fun. It was originally a play that we did five years ago. This year, it was filmed as a movie and should be released by the end of 2021, if not sooner.

How has your involvement in the 50Something Women’s Network supported your personal or business life?

It has given me courage to pursue my dreams. Listening to some of the women's stories and accomplishments inspire me to pursue and not give up on my dreams.

Why did you join the network?

Cheryl invited me to join.  I had worked with Cheryl in another business. She invited me to come to a seminar she was hosting. It was so good, and I learned a lot. So, I signed up for some coaching classes with her. Wow I learned so much through our sessions that I started taking my business seriously.  When she sent the invite to join the network, of course I said Yes.

How can members support you?

'

By keeping me engaged and not letting me slip back into my shyness.
